Although I do not own a Do27 I do own a Do28A. We share a common fuselage so I am hoping someone can help me find parts. Is there a source for the plexiglass (acrylic) fuselage Windows? Both doors and upper skylights (roof) windows. I know I can make a mold and have new ones cast but was hoping there still is a source.

Hi, the pesrpex of the Do28A front doors are similar but not exactly identical, they are 1 mm thicker as far as I remember, and the small window is of different shape. Therefore different partnumber, see partscatalog. Of course mold can be made, but you will have severe problems in installing and manufacturing the small window. Curiously waiting for any result. Some tried before, results wer disappointing. Availability: Almost impossible to find or to get unless to get them produced for a lot of money by a company. Anyway you could use the ones of the Do 27, different partnumber, similar shape. Availabilty: Some people have, but won`t give them away if they own a Do 27. For all the other windows you can use Macrolon or similar material. If you need mor information, send an email. Regards

Thank you for the response. My front door windows are okay for now. I think here in the USA if you make your own mold, having one of the manufactures form the window would not be very expensive. I'm not impressed with the functionality of the vent window in the Do28. The engineers must have not thought it through when changing the Do27 into the Do28. I can imagine with the Do27's control stick, it opens inflight with no interference. With the Do28 having a yoke, closing an open window interferes with control movements.
My skylight window over the passengers is cracked in a number of places. That is the window needing replacement. My first impression is that the window was formed. If changed to polycarbonate maybe a flat sheet could be bent to fit. I will look again.
Thank you

Hi, do you have contact to owners in the US? There are a few and I remember one or two having a good stock of spares. I remember 2 or 3 people owning a Do28-A. Yes the upper smaller perspex can be bend and the shape would fit into that frame. Regards Martin
